Shri Lalitha Sahasranamam: Namam 917: Shri Dhira samarcita (ōṃ dhīrasamarcitāyai namaḥ)

The Divine Mother is worshipped by wise men with determination.

One would be wasting his efforts and time if he keeps changing his well digging location. Book based educated people are like above well digging type. Another person may get other’s valuable judgements and make his own analysis before digging the well; he gets good results. These wise men with determination are like the one digging well correctly. They worship the Divine Mother. They do not get distracted that they have not yet got the Divine Mother’s grace. Even if the mother is not giving any attention, the child is persistent and gets mother’s attention. Wise men worship the Divine Mother persistently. They never slip from their worship.

Those who try sincerely will not fail is a saying. This is exemplified by these wise men worshipping the Divine Mother with determination. One should worship the Divine Mother is the inner meaning of this Namam.

Dhira worships the Divine Mother with singular focus. Even if She sends them to hell or makes them the Lord to rule the whole universe, they strongly get hold of Her feet. For them it is the responsibility of the Divine Mother to rescue them without any confusion in proper ways, in return for their immense devotion to worship Her.

The Divine Mother is worshipped for the sake of bliss and the knowledge of the Atman. The bliss of Self-knowledge makes everything else uninteresting as confirmed by those with experience. The secluded serene and no-dual bliss of the Atman “far exceeds even the purest joy, untouched by a trace of sorrow or anxiety.” Those who are wise forsake everything else for it. You may throw me into hell or make me the Lord of all the worlds in this universe; whatever happens, I will not forsake Your Feet- this is certain!” Says Kalyanacarana.

The Divine Mother is worshipped by wise men

                                       with determination.
