Shri Lalitha Sahasranamam: Namam 891: Shri Vidrumabha (ōṃ vidrumābhāyai namaḥ)

The Divine Mother shines like coral (with Her red complexion).

She is beautiful.  In Her red colour, She shines like coral. Usually, the Divine Mother’s red colour is compared to reddish flowers and coral. Flowers are under direct sunlight. They get sun’s rays and their colour on their own. Coral is under deep seabed. Sun’s rays cannot reach the coral. A red-coloured coral is very rare. The Divine Mother’s natural rare glories here are compared to rare reddish coral.

Vidruma can mean jnana (knowledge or wisdom) light. The Divine Mother has such jnana light within Her. When a seed grows and comes out of the earth, it will have all the aspects of the tree. Use of the jnana light is kept alive for generations. When a fruit giving tree dies, other similar trees grow and maintain the natural fruit giving aspect. Jnana light is like a fruit giving tree. Like these natural happenings and Her glories, the Divine Mother’s, are maintaining the universe..

Vidruma is coral, It also can mean the tree (druma) of knowledge (vid). Or it is a special tree (vi + druma), like the wish-fulling Kalpa tree. The Divine Mother, who fulfills everyone’s wish, shines like the wish fulfilling Kalpa tree.
