Shri Lalitha Sahasranamam: Namam 912: Shri Savyapasavya margastha (ōṃ savyāpasavyamārgasthāyai namaḥ)

The Divine Mother occupies both left and right paths of worship; She can be reached by any one path. She is the leader of both paths. The learned opinion is that there is a central path of the Duvune Mother’s worship.

The Divine Mother grants all material wealth to Her devotees in this universe. She also ensures that such wealth stays with Her devotees. Above all, She systemizes the usages of such wealth for devotees, to improve their lives.

Using nature to worship the Divine Mother is called Vamasam. Those who are victors in this method of worship, become eligible for Her divine grace in much quicker time; caution is that if there is any mistake in one’s worshipping in this method, he is likely to become lunatic or even get death.

Those who use jnana ("knowledge" or "wisdom,") approach for the Divine Mother worship, are trying to release themselves from ‘birth and death, samsara cycle’. They realize this current life is uncertain to bring their previous karma balances to null, and they try to leave the attachments and bonds in their life. They understand both Jnana and devotion are needed in their prayers. This Daksina (the tradition of repaying one's teacher or guru after a period of study or the completion of formal education, or an acknowledgment to a spiritual guide.) way leaves out bodily health and bonds or attachments. To follow the Daksina method of worship is simple. Like his body’s growth, the devotee’s divine desires come to him easily.

Both methods of worship differ a lot. Yet the Divine Mother supports both worship methods. Depending on their mindset, each one follows his choice of the Divine Mother worship method. The devotee gains the Divine Mother’s blessings in either worshipping way.

The Divine Mother supports right and left ways of worship to reach Her. There are Veda based prayers or Tantra based worship; All these methods are acceptable to the Divine Mother.

Savya is creation; apasavya is destruction or dissolution or absorbed by the Divine Mother at the time of pralaya. In between the sustaining of the souls is there. The three stages are there for any soul to go through.

Sun goes through twenty-seven constellations in nine streets or paths in the universe. The first nine constellations are in the sun’s Uttarayanam or northern path. The second nine constellations are Madhyaayanam or middle  path; last nine constellations are in Sun’s Dakshinayanam or southern path.

Savya or left connotes the act of creation; apasavya or right is the act of dissolution and marga; and the third one is the act of preservation, Thus, the Divine Mother is the basis of all three processes.

The sun’s course through the constellations during the year is divided into ananas or paths, north, south and middle, which correspond respectively to the savya, apasvya and marga. These connote the sun’s passage to the north, to the south and in the region near the equator, each extending for four months. The present Namam then means that the Divine Mother occupies all three of these paths.

It is generally believed that a human’s death during the northern passage of the sun is desirable, yet this Namam makes it clear that for a true devotee of the Divine Mother, there is no distinction on paths. Such a devotee will merge with the Divine Mother regardless of when his death happens.

The northern passage is called Jyothi-marga ‘the path of light’ (the path of knowledge or the path of the devas). The southern passage is known as dhuma-marga ‘the path of smoke’. The former is said to be for jnanis, the persons and the latter is for worldly people. The middle passage is called Dhruva-mandala, ‘the abode of Dhruva or the place of Vishnu. The course of the sun and planets are said to be controlled by Dhruva Amandla. The Divine Mother resides here and directs all three paths. Thus, She gained the name, “Savyapasavyamargastha”.

It is common to consider only two divisions in a year, the northern and southern passages (Uttara and Dakshina ayanas) each taking six months for the sun. During each Ayana, the sun passes through the region of nine stars or constellations, each divided into three groups as three constellations each. Thet are as follows:

1.     Northern passage or Uttar Ayana from constellations nakshatras Asvini to Punarvasu.

2.     Middle passage or Madhyama Yana from constellations Makka to Anuratha.

3.     Southermn passage or Daksinayana from constellations Mula to Revathi.

Also, savya connotes the ids; apasavya the Pingala and marga as called Sushma. The Divine Mother is in three Nadis also.

The Divine Mother is the basis of all three processes                           of creation, sustaining and dissolution.
