The Divine Mother is the meaning of tat (that) and tvam (thou).
She is linking Shiva and the Jiva Atma (the individual, embodied soul, often described as a divine spark or drop of the universal soul (Paramatma) that is limited by a physical body and experiences the world through a "karmic package" of actions and their consequences.) Tat is Brahman, tvam is soul or Jiva Atma. Ayi or achyi is indicating the link between the Brahman and Jiva Atma, through the Divine Mother. This is one of the Maha Vakias or great statements.
She is the ‘Tatvamchi’, the Maha Vakia linking the Brahman and Jiva Atma. When we leave the dharma, taking Dhamini only as tat, we can understand the meaning of tvam. The Maha Vakia ‘tatvamchi’ indicates the pure Brahman is pure Self. The Divine Mother is the meaning of this Maha Vakia.
Tat is Brahman, tvam is soul or Jiva Atma are the same, declares the great statement or Maha Vakia from Upanishad, “tattva Masi”. “The Divine mother is in the form of that Self Knowledge.” Jiva is not distinct from Brahman as Acarya Adi Sankara adds.
