Shri Lalitha Sahasranamam: Namam 913: Shri Sarvapad vinivarini (ōṃ sarvāpadvinivāriṇyai namaḥ)

The Divine Mother removes all dangers for Her devotees.

In all stages of life, universal beings face many problems and dangers. The Divine Mother saves Her devotees from all dangers.

For a seed planted in the earth, if it goes very deep, then, the plant/tree will not come above the ground; if the seed is just on the earth’s surface, it gets damaged, and the plant/tree will not grow. If the watering level for the seed within the earth is more or less, the plant growth will be damaged. With the grace of the Divine Mother, seed must overcome and grow into an acceptable plant. Similarly for the other living beings and humans the damage and blockages to them are numerous.  Continuously, by providing good means to eliminate the ignorance for the mankind, the Divine Mother works to stop the birth and death cycles for the humans. From birth to death, the humans face many sorrows. At such times, humans ought to surrender to the Divine Mother. For the people who seek the grace of the Divine Mother, such sorrows are removed. Thus, the Divine Mother is the remover of total suffering for all the universal beings.

Those who do not follow daksinayana (jnana approach of the Divine Mother worship, as discussed in previous Namam), can utter Her names and do small service to Her, still can get Her blessings. She removes the unexpected troubles and dangers for them. These troubles can come from all directions, unavoidable and unexpected sources. They get removed by the Divine Mother for Her devotees.

In Kurma Purana, the Divine Mother says, “I destroy by the light of wisdom the misfortunes of even mountainous size befalling all who take refuge (the state of being safe or sheltered from pursuit, danger, or difficulty.) in Me,worshipping fully forsaking all attachments, with compassion towards all beings, free of desire and anger and with self-control, whether they are Sannyasins, Vanaprastha, Gthasthas or Brahmacharini.”

In Harivamsa, Vishnu tells the Divine Mother, “you alone protect people from sorrows such as death, loss of wealth, the death of sons and other afflictions; in this there is no doubt.”

Brahma praises Her in Varaha Purana, “O Devi, for one who takes refuge in you, dangers and misfortunes do not arise.”

Brahma and other divinities become servants of one who remembers the Divine Mother. The meaning of this Namam is to be appreciated from one’s personal experience. Whoever constantly takes refuge in the Divine Mother canmot deny the truth of this Namam.

The Divine Mother removes all dangers for Her devotees.
