Shri Lalitha Sahasranamam: Namam 45: Shri Pada Dvaya Parabha Jala Parkrta Saroruha (OM padadvayaprabhAjAlaparAkRRitasaroruhAyai namaH)

The Divine Mother’s feet have radiance, softness, beautiful, purity and fragrance unmatched to any other thing in this universe.

However HER feet are compared to lake growing Lotus flowers. Lotus in no way can match above qualities of the Divine mother’s feet.

Bees with their varying hum are attracted to the Lotus. Lotus has limited sphere of attraction. Also the freshness of Lotus dies down every day.

The Divine Mother’s feet attract many gifted scholars and poets. The Divine Mother’s beauty and fragrance spread across all times and across universal space. It has permanency unlike Lotus flowers dyeing in short time periods.

The Lotus flower cannot match the Divine Mother’s feet in any of these qualities.

The namam is phrased in such a way that the Lotus flower accepts defeat that it cannot match the Divine Mother’s feet qualities and it runs away unable to face the shame.

Close enough meanings for words used:

Pada: Foot or foot print
Dvaya: two fold, two of its kind/sorts, couple or pair
Jala: a tall, thin and gorgeous Goddess; smartest, beautiful and interesting.
Parakrta: Power, great strength, courage
Saroruha: lake growing Lotus.
