Shri Lalitha Sahasranamam: Namam 41: Shri Indra Gopa Parisipta Smara Tunabha Jangihka (OM indragopaparikShiptasmaratUNAbhaja ~ NghikAyai namaH)

The Divine Mother’s calves gleam. They are like a jewel covered quiver of God of Love (Manmata/ Indra). We can consider meaning of this namam also as: The Divine Mother’s calves are covered by HER jewel studded shinning red garment or HER calf muscles look like quiver of God of Love (Manmata/Indra).

Calves: Calf muscles at the back of lower part of legs in human body between knee and ankle which is close enough meaning for use in this namam. The other meaning for calves is a young domestic cow or the young of various other large mammals such as elephants and whales.

Gleam: Shine brightly due to clean and shinning surface especially with reflected light. The other meaning for gleam: is to shine with or as if with subdued steady light or moderate brightness.

Quiver: a slight trembling movement or especially one caused by a sudden emotion but with rapid motion. The other meaning for quiver: a case to carry or hold arrows.
