The Divine Mother resides in the greater Kailasa; Mahakailasa means, The abode of Lord Shiva beyond the Kailasa Mountain.”
Eternally through unison, She, is sharing with Lord Shiva as Arthanareswar. Kailasa is the abode for both. To graduate the souls to higher level, which had originally come out from Brahmam, through five elements (Sun, wind, Fire, Water and Earth), She descends to this universe, which is an important form of Her. Brahmam is Her Ultimate abode where She is with Lord Shiva.
Thousand petaled lotus, Shasarara cakra is called Mahakailasa. The first chakra Muladhara has the soul as Kundalini. Due to meditations Kundalini moves from Muladhara through Svadisthana, Manipuraka, Anahata, Vishudhi and Ajna cakras to reach Sahasarara; there She joins with Lord Shiva. Since Sahasarara is Her permanent place with Lord Shiva, which is known as Mahakailasa; She is called “Mahakailasanilaya.”
In earlier Namam we saw that if we meditate using bija syllables or letters, it is called the Kailasa prastara Srichakra where the Divine Mother resides. There in unison, She, lives as Shiva-Shakti. In the human body above six cakras, Sahasarara is located; it is also called Mahakailasa where the Divine Mother resides.
Kailasa is also referred to as Sahasarara as we saw earlier, in Brahmarandhra. The Divine Mother resides there. The Tripurasara describes Sahasrara thus: “This is known as Kailasa, the seat of Akula where the Lord Shiva resides also in the bindu. The six chakras from Muladhara to Anja are called Kula and the Sahasarara above them is called Akula.
Mahakailasa is Kailasaprastara meditation referred above. The speciality of Mahakailasa is that Vasini and the other daily deities have no place there. They are confined to Bhu and Meruprastaras. The last statement takes on greater meaning, revealing that the Muladhara is the bhu tattva (bhu is earth) and the backbone is known as Merudanda.
The Divine Mother as Mahakailasa nilaya.
