Shri Lalitha Sahasranamam: Namam 106: Shri Sudha Sarabhivarsini (OM sudhAsArAbhivarShiNyai namaH)

In Namams 91 to 111, we will be seeing the Divine Mother’s subtle Mantra- Rupam.

The Divine Mother pours out fountains of SudhasAra (Ambrosia) or nectar. She gives the very pleasant ultimate experience to the devotees.

Those who are able to drink the Ambrosia, live forever. This shower of Amirta happens when Kundalini reaches the Sahasrara. On having this Ambrosia of spiritual bliss, the devotee attains eternal salvation.

There were many mighty Kings and lords who ruled their vast kingdoms and died. They are all forgotten. There are many such examples of forgotten supermen in history. It shows that they had not reached the Abir of Divine Mother, to drink the Ambrosia and attain to salvation as mentioned above.

Let the feet of the Divine Mother which send out strong and fast moving nectar make us be content for ever.

Sudhakaran is concentrated nectar, the Ambrosia

Shri Lalitha Sahasranamam: Namam 105: Shri Sahasrarambujarudha (OM sahasrArAmbujArUDhAyai namaH)

In Namams 91 to 111, we will be seeing the Divine Mother’s subtle Mantra- Rupam.

The Divine Mother moves up to the Sahasrara chakra which is like a thousand petaled lotus.

This is the abode of Lord Sadasiva. The Divine Mother sits in Lord Sadasiva’s left lap there.

SahasrAbuja (the thousand petaled lotuses) is above Ajna-chakra and below Bradmandhra (an opening in the crown of head)

Thousand is to be taken to mean as many or countless. The Divine Mother has countless places to reside to bless and provide help to Her devotees.

Chandra has 15 destructible arts or elements which we can visualize. Sada means always present. Sixteenth art or element is non destructible which can be called sada or Sadasiva.

Shri Lalitha Sahasranamam: Namam 104: Shri Rudra Granthi Vibhedini (OM rudragranthivibhedinyai namaH)

In Namams 91 to 111, we will be seeing the Divine Mother’s subtle Mantra- Rupam.

The Divine Mother comes out of the Rudra (Rudra –granthi or Knot) (Siva) knot when the Kundalini travels from Muladhara to Sahasrara.

The most auspicious Rudra-granthi is located in the Visuddhi and Ajna chakras. It is Lord Siva’s residing place. The name of this Granthi is derived from it. Visuddhi and Ajna cakras combined are called Chandra- mandala.

Srividya (Pancadasaksari) Mantra has four Mandalas which are Agni, Surya, Chandra and Soma madalas.( Vagbhava-kuta (4 syallables), Kamaraja-kuta (5 syllables), Sakti-kuta ( 3 syllables) and Turiya (3 syllables) total 15 syllables. These were reflected in Namams 85 to 87.

There are three Granthis (knots) namely Brahma-granthi, Vishnu-granthi and Rudra-granthi correspond to Agni, Surya and Chandramandals. These three Granthis symbolically represent the creation, existence and disappearance respectively of the human body made of five elements.

Vibhedini is breaking through.

Shri Lalitha Sahasranamam: Namam 103: Shri Ajna Cakrantaralastha (OM Aj ~ nAchakrAntarAlasthAyai namaH)

In Namams 91 to 111, we will be seeing the Divine Mother’s subtle Mantra- Rupam.

The Divine Mother resides at the centre of Ajnachakra.

Ajnachakra is located between the eyebrows where a two petaled lotus blossoms. This is in Chandramandala. It is also the abode of Rudra.

Ajna is to know; to understand. For a devotee whose Kundalini has reached the Ajnacakra, all the wisdom becomes accessible like a sweet Fruit (berry) in his hand. This means that the knowledge or wisdom is readily available to the devotee.

Shri Lalitha Sahasranamam: Namam 102: Shri Vishnu Granthi Vibhedini (OM viShNugranthivibhedinyai namaH)

In Namams 91 to 111, we will be seeing the Divine Mother’s subtle Mantra- Rupam.

The Divine Mother as Kundalini, breaks or goes through the knot known as Vishnu- granthi.

Vishnu-granthi is located above Manipuraka, in the Disc of the Sun. Mahavishnu is said to reside here.

Manipuraka and Anahata chakras together are representing the radiant Vishnu-granthi. When the Kundalini comes through this Vishnu-granthi, the devotee gets his siddhis, astonishing psychic powers.

In case the devotee misuses such siddhis, then he will also miss the attainment his ultimate goal of salvation.

Perhaps some of the modern day religious Gurus in India are falling into this trap by seeking monetary gains and personal fame or even glory with the use of such siddhis.

Vibhedini is breaking through.

Shri Lalitha Sahasranamam: Namam 101: Shri Manipurantra Udita. (OM maNipUrAntaruditAyai namaH)

In Namams 91 to 111, we will be seeing the Divine Mother’s subtle Mantra- Rupam.

Here, the Divine Mother (Kundalini) emerges out of Muladhrara Chakra on her way to Sahasrara from Muladhara.

Manipura is a ten petaled lotus at novel area. In Samayacara worship (Namam 98), the Divine Mother’s image is decorated by the devotee with Manipura or diamond jewelry as the Kundalini reaches here. Therefore, this chakra is called Manipura cakra.

Kundalini breaks through the knot of Brahma (Brama-grandhi). This chakra is also in Suriya-Manadal, Vishnu’s abode and sustaining action chakra.

During the mental (manasa) puja, the devotee visualizes the Divine Mother’s navel being adorned with ten petaled lotuses and diamond jewelry.

Udita means risen, ascended, high, lofty, tall, apparent, visible, sunrise or spontaneous devotional service.

Shri Lalitha Sahasranamam: Namam 100: Shri Brahma Granthi Vibhedini (OM brahmagranthivibhedinyai namaH)

In Namams 91 to 111, we will be seeing the Divine Mother’s subtle Mantra- Rupam.

The Divine Mother breaks through the knot of Brahma (Brahma-grandhi).

Granthi is a knot. Above Muladhara and Svadhisthana (Agni- Mandala) there is a knot called Brahmagranthi. This knot is created by Brahma as a symbol of creation. It is a symbolic creative instinct.

This granthi acts like a hurdle due to the past vasana of the devotee. The devotee with his Sadhana and the Divine Mother’s grace is able go through this granthi.

Vibhedini is one who breaks through a hurdle.

Shri Lalitha Sahasranamam: Namam 99: Shri Muladharaika Nilaya (OM mUlAdhAraikanilayAyai namaH)

In Namams 91 to 111, we will be seeing the Divine Mother’s subtle Mantra- Rupam.

The Divine Mother’s first residence is at Muladhara.

Muladhara is a four petaled lotus. In its centre there is a bindu or Kulakunda. The Kundalini is resting in Muladhara with face hidden from view. Mula means root. Adhara means base. Muladhara is the root of Susumna. Kundalini when awakened through Yogic practice with Guru’s guidance travels through Susumna through the following six chakras to Sahasrara. The six chakras with their elements are:
1.       Muladhara ,is the base and it represents Earth
2.       Svadhisthana represents Fire
3.       Manipuraka represents Water
4.       Anahata represents Air
5.       Visuddhi represents Space
6.       Ajna represents Mind

Muladhara a four petaled lotus is located between the anus and the genitals. Svadhisthana is a six petaled lotus is located at the level of gentials. Muladhara and Svadhisthana form the disc of Fire (Agni- Mandala)

Manipuraka is a ten petaled lotus at navel. Anahata is a twelve petaled lotus at the heart level. Manipuraka and Anahata form the disc of Sun (Saura-Mandala)

Visuddhi is a sixteen petaled lotus at the throat. Ajna is a two petaled lotus is located within the forehead between the eyebrows. Visuddhi and Ajna form the disc of Moon (Chandra-Mandala)

The nerves Ida and Pingala run inside the backbone on left and right sides respectively. Susumna is between Ida and Pingala. It runs from Muladhara to Sahasrara. The six chakras are connected to Susumna.

When Kundalini is awakened by yogic practice by the grace of the Guru, it moves upward through Susumna. When the Kundalini passes through each of the six chakras beautiful sights, unparallel sounds and indescribable Siddis appear to the devotee. Finally, Kundalini reaches the Sahasrara chakra in the head. At that time, the devotee experiences divine bliss beyond the limits of his body and mind.

The moon moves through Ida nerve. The Sun moves through Pingala nerve. When exposed to Sun’s rays, the nectar in the moon melts and flows through six chakras towards Muladhara. After drinking this flowing nectar, the Kundalini falls asleep in Muladhara. The sun’s and Moon’s movements can be stopped through yogic practices; this will stop the flow of nectar down as well. The Kundalini wakes up and feels hungry for the nectar. It starts its movement up again.

Muladhara function can be compared to a boiler. When the water in the boiler is heated up, it cannot escape out if the boiler is completely closed. Some opening valve is needed to get the steam out of the boiler. Here the Kundalini is lying in Muladhara. It is the devotee’s yogic practice through Guru’s guidance that the Kundalini is awakened and starts its movement up.

Shri Lalitha Sahasranamam: Namam 98: Shri Samayacara Tatpara (OM samayAchAratatparAyai namaH)

In Namams 91 to 111, we will be seeing the Divine Mother’s subtle Mantra- Rupam.

The Divine Mother attributes importance to Samaya form of worship.

The ancient Rudrayamala text describes Samayachakra in ten chapters. This is a worshipping method or Sadhana performed by the devotee with Guru’s guidance for awakening the Kundalini. The Kundalini rises from its base Muladhara. It goes through five chakras namely svadhisthana, manipuraka, anahata, visudhi and ajna to reach thousand petaled lotuses Sahasrara where Lord Sadasiva is seated in curtained pleasure chamber. The Kundalini reaches Lord Sadasiva and returns to Muladhara.

Samayachakra has many steps to be followed with the Guru’s instructions and supervision. This Namam implies that the Divine Mother values this form of Sadhana.

Even if the food is not cooked well, a hungry human has to eat the same to make a living. Cooking can be improved. Likewise Samaya prayers with proper Guru’ guidance are important for the devotee to get liberation. Otherwise the devotee would not have understood the Samaya prayers correctly. He would have to analyze
and improve his understanding to be eagerly engaged in the Divine Mother’s prayers. Tatpara is getting eagerly engaged or deeply engrossed in the Divine Mother’s prayers. Like a mother is keen to feed her children, the Divine Mother is keen to see the progress of Her devotees towards salvation. The devotee is to stick to the stipulated Samaya prayer procedures.
