In Namams 64 to 84, we will be seeing
the Divine Mother destroying the Bhandasura.
The Divine Mother is very happy to
see with great care the pride and the might of Her NityAA deities.
During lunar half month, each day has
its own presiding deity running the day, known as NityAA. There are fifteen
NityAA deities. They are staying on Sricakara near Divine Mother in the Bindu.
Their names are: Kameshvari, Bhagamalini, Nityaklinna, Bherunda, Vahnivasini,
Mahavajreshvari, Dooti (Siva thuti), Tvarita, Kualsundari, Nitya, Neelapataka,
Vijaya, Sarvamangala, JualAmalini and Chitra. They are the deities for each day
and follow the day of the moon’s growing phase from Kameshvari the first day
and Chitra for fifteen’s day. On Moon’s waning phase first day belongs to
Chitra and fifteen’s day belongs to Kameshvari, basically in reverse order. For
example from above sequence, Goddess JvAlA mAlini will have fourteenth day in
growing phase and second day in waning phase of the Moon.
These NityAA deities provide the
protection to the Divine Mother. The Divine Mother has no end and lives
forever, like wise these NityAA deities also live forever. The Divine Mother’s
glory is seen well when these NityAA deities serve the Divine Mother. She is
very pleased with the heroic acts of the NityAA deities in staying alert and
destroying the demonic forces such as Bhanda, Citragupta, Damanaka etc. These
demonic powers disturb the devotee’s self realization process.
The aggressive might mentioned in
this Namam is dedicated to the struggle for gaining knowledge. The Divine
Mother is delighted in seeing the struggle from devotees. A strong willpower
will not lead to a defeat. It will only gain more strength at each stage. This
will happen once the knowledge seed is planted inside the devotees. It will
take root and grow strongly. The souls renew their positive efforts when they
are seeking unison with the Supreme Self. Like looking at and enjoying the
growth of a small child, the Divine Mother is happily watching the progression
of Her devotees’ kundalini movement from Muladara to Sahasrara.
When duality is destroyed and the
illusion of Maya is removed, the knowledge of Brahman continues to increase
over a period of time. Once this spiritual progression is made, this cannot be
reversed. This is the inner meaning of this Namam.
Close enough meanings:
NityAA is everlasting eternal
energies of one’s soul.
Prakramatopa is continual progress of
self realization.
Samutsuka is a very eager or curious
nature.
