Shri Lalitha Sahasranamam: Namam 557: Shri Kalahantri (ōṃ kālahantryai namaḥ

The Goddess Divine Mother is the destroyer of time (death of time).

The Divine Mother removes the effect of time for us. The universe and its beings are bound by the time factor. Time is absorbing all these beings’ livelihood always. Time in death form is consuming the universe and its beings. The Divine Mother destroys such powerful time. Those who worship the Divine Mother are not bound by the time and go beyond it. This is the greatest grace from worshipping the Divine Mother.

Kala is Yama, the death God and is time. Yama kills the universal beings. The Divine Mother in unison with Lord Shiva, for the sake of Markandeya, destroyed the Yama who usually kills those in samsara Sagara. She controls Yama. When we do not think about the Divine Mother, time is wasted.. The wasted time takes us to Yemen. When we  think about the Divine Mother, Yama cannot reach us.

The Divine Mother is beyond time. She is also the one who removes the effects of evil periods in our lives. In Her presence within us, the time is forgotten or lost. So, She is the destroyer of time.

The  Divine Mother destroys the time  and saves

            Her devotees from Yama.
