The Divine Mother is like wildfire to the forest of sins.
She is wildfire to burn out souls’ forest of sins. Karma actions include papa or sinful deeds and their sufferings as well. Even the actions of punya (noble deeds) may be tainted by sinful actions, When someone plucks the flowers and auspicious leaves for prayers and offering, he does not realize the harm he is doing to the tree. Every action has positive and negative effects. For a person trying to do punya deeds, the accompanying sinful parts can only be cleared by Divine Mother’s grace and blessing. Even though the forest fire reduces the trees to ashes, the subsequent rainfall will help the trees to grow well. So, the Divine Mother’s blessing is like a forest fire which eliminates the unavoidable sins. Her blessing is also like nectar like rain (as explained in previous Nama).
We wonder in our suffering as to why we were reborn. Our previous sins cause such sufferings. How many of them are there? Can we cross them all? We don’t know how to cross over from an unknown forest. We realize that our previous sins are bad from our present sufferings. When we are in the forest due to its attractive coolness we get trapped in the forest. We understand our previous sins are the cause of our severe sufferings. The recovery from the suffering is not with us but once the forest fire destroys most of the forest, we can see the way out. Likewise, the Divine Mother’s grace destroys all our sins and saves us to progress forward.
Uttering the Divine Mother’s name even once with faith and devotion can wipe out all sins. “Remembrance of the feet of Para Sakthi is the best expiration of all sins committed knowingly or unknowingly” declares Bramha Purana. In another context the same purana says “Oh Devendra, hear this great secret which destroys all our sins. With devotion and faith standing in water after bath repeat the Panchadasi mantra a hundred and eight times”. Worshipping Supreme Sakthi in this way releases one from all sins.
The Divine Mother is wildfire clearing
the sins of Her devotees.
