Shri Lalitha Sahasranamam: Namam 640: Shri Vag adhishvari (ōṃ vāgadhīśvaryai namaḥ)

The  Divine Mother presides over the speech of each of all universal beings. She is the cause and the meaning of all speeches.

She leads every universal being’s speech. Even though the humans can speak, not everyone can speak clearly. One’s clarity of speech is the indicator of maturity of that individual. The speech clarify and meaning wellness ought to be in one’s speech. Vag adhishvari, the Divine Mother grants such wellness in one’s speech, which they ought to benefit for praying to the Divine Mother. The devotee can pray to the Divine Mother to grant wellness of clarity and meanings in one’s speech.

Vag Devis (from Vasini, a total of eight of them) are all the forms of the Divine Mother. She is in the forms of Vagadhisvari. She is making us to speak. When we speak about the things we know, we get full clarity and understanding of those things. We cannot think and speak about an item which we do not know. We learn and understand more about the Divine Mother as part of the scheme of things. What we have understood on the Divine Mother is within us and in meditation we permanently keep such knowledge on the Divine Mother within us.

The Divine Mother presides over Goddess Sarasvati and eight Vag Devis. It is through grace that they function. Therefore, the Divine Mother is Vag adhishvari.

The Goddess of learning Sarasvati Devi is a form of the Divine Mother.
