From Namam 112 to 131, we will see
the devotion aspects in the Divine Mother worship
The Divine Mother removes the fear in
devotees.
The fear is due to the belief that something bigger than oneself
exists. Swami Vivekananda summarized Upanishads as “fear not” (Abhih).
Ignorance is the source of fear. Result of that is to look at
others as separate beings. This will cause trouble to weaker persons. The fear
sets in devotees when a strong person is met in life. It is generated from the presumption
that, some potential trouble may be expected from the strong person.
Uncertainty on effects of rebirth causes the fear of death. The
fear of death made Sages to recommend the yogic path.
One who knows the Brahman (bliss) need not fear death. The
Divine Mother is the essence of Brahman. She removes all fears.
Bhaskararaya in Vayu Purana says that in the forest and in other
places in water, on earth, in battlefield, in the mist of enemies, in front of
a tiger and wild beast, robbers and diseases the Divine Mother’s name should be
recited.
Worship of the Divine Mother increases the devotee’s inner
strength and eliminates the fear in him. The devotee, under the Divine Mother’s
care will have an auspicious rebirth.
The Divine Mother worship eliminates the fear in Her devotees.
