From Namam 112 to 131, we will see
the devotion aspects in the Divine Mother worship
The Divine Mother confers prosperity to Her devotees.
The Divine Mother has the intent to promote the celestial
beings’ and Her devotees’ causes. She is very generous to give prosperity to
Her devotees without any expectation.
For the sick, the prosperity means a cure. For the poor who for
lack ways and means to provide for themselves is wealth. And for the devotee
seeking salvation,it is wisdom or supreme knowledge. The Divine Mother gives out
all of these generously.
Bhagam can mean in many things; Knowledge, determination,
wealth, desire, pride, strength, trying untiringly, light and fame. These are
the things the devotee gets due to his poorvapunya.
Bhagam also means divinity. For the devotee to get all these positive
things is Saubhagyam
Saubhaga is one of the Divine Mother’s names (Namam 761).
Saubhaga is Her qualities in general. Since She is all of these and much more, She
is Saubhaga. And, as She gives out generously all these to devotees without any
expectation, She is Saubhagya Dayini.
