The Goddess Divine Mother is the creator of many billions of universes.
In every galaxy, all beings and their souls have the Divine Mother as their creator; likewise for all static galaxies, She is the creator. So, She gets the name ‘Virat’; when the same the Divine Mother takes care of all the beings in the total universe, She gets the name ‘Svarat’; when She does both of above actions together, She is known as ‘Samrat’. So, the devotee who tries to understand the Divine Mother’s forms and glories has his soul settled within the Divine Mother. All these are created and ruled by the Divine Mother. So She s celebrated as” Aneka Koti Brahmanda Janani”.
Brahmanda basically means Brahman-as-egg. Everything in this universe is egg-shaped; the Sun, Moon and atoms all have nearly spherical forms. A collection of atoms may take different shapes, but at microcosmic level, all are egg-shaped. The ancient sages say there are many millions of worlds in this universe. Modern day science agrees to talk about many galaxies. The sages have spoken of these objects many years ago. These words are examples of the foresight that the rishis brought to the analytical study of the universe. The Divine Mother is Mother of countless many billions of such worlds in this universe.
As we have seen She is also
called Virat, Svarat and Samrat depending on the kind of creative and sustaining
actions She takes. Vikaras are five gross elements, five sensory organs, five
organs of action and the mind, making a total of sixteen modifications or shodahsa
elements. Svarat is the power that takes pride as the collective subtle body
(Linga Sarira) of the cosmos. Samrat is the combination of the above actions
done by the Divine Mother.
