Namams 475 to 534 represent the Divine Mother’s Yogini forms.
The Divine Mother’s Representative Hakini yogin residing in the Ajna chakra pericarp in two-petaled lotus, She is fond of food seasoned with turmeric. In many Shiva and Vishnu temples, turmeric mixed rice is usually distributed as prasadam, after offering to the deities in there.
The turmeric mixed and cooked rice is called Haridrannam. Hakini Devi is fond of this type of yellow coloured food.
The turmeric addition to rice gives the yellow colour. The turmeric eliminates the disease in the body. Saffron flower is sometimes added to give reddish yellow colour and good flavor. Such prepared food gives strength to the body. People eat the yellow-coloured food that had been offered to the Divine Mother and later distributed to them. Yellow coloured food with turmeric is much liked by Hakini Devi and the Divine Mother is the message to devotees that turmeric mixed food is good for them. By eating such food, their body is strengthened. For this reason, the Divine Mother is said to like turmeric powder mixed food.
