The Divine Mother is immensely joyful.
She is the storehouse of fragrance (as in flowers and fame). Krishna says in Gita that He is the fragrances in the flower. This is applicable to the Divine Mother also here. All Her grace and presence are spread all over the universe. Smell is essentially the earth’s inner effect. Even if we bury a bad smelling material in the earth, in due course it turns out to be good smelling or have good fragrance. This is due to the glory of the Divine Mother. Smelling and enjoying the fragrance is a form of worship to the Divine Mother. In temples the Sambrani fragrance smell increases the devotion towards the Divine Mother. Sambrani is a fragrant resin from trees in the Styrax genus, also known as benzoin resin, used in many cultures for its aromatic and purifying properties.
The Divine Mother has greatest joy within Herself. She spreads superior joy everywhere in the universe. Amodam is extreme happiness achieved within one’s mind. It also means fragrance and fame. She has great qualities of all these.
The Divine Mother is immensely joyful.
