The Divine Mother is sinless.
Anagha is a Sanskrit name with meaning "sinless," "faultless," or "pure."
She does not have eternally sin (papa) and sadness (sorrow). Those who act improperly or non-dharma ways are called sinners (papa). The Divine Mother never slip out of Her fullness. There is very wide separation between sadness and Her. In a small pond, by washing some cattles, we can dirty it, whereas in a larger watery place like a sea, by washing the cattles, we can hardly dirty the sea like we can do it in a small pond having more water. She is the whole Universe, and any difficulty or sadness cannot reach Her. She does not get involved in sadness. The Divine Mother is widely spread in this universe, we cannot identify any mistake, sadness or sorrow in Her.
She is free from any sin. Aham is sin; sorrow due to sin and difficulties are not with the Divine Mother. With no previous papa linkage, She cannot get the earlier birth sins following Her, like the souls. There is no damage to Her.
Sin (Papa) and Merit (Punya) are the results of one’s actions. The Divine Mother is performing all manners of destruction (nigraha) of the universe during Pralaya and blessing (anugraha) always Her devotees, even then She has no resultant sin or merit.
The Gita (11. 48) says, “steadfast in yoga, perform your actions. O Dhanamjaya, abandoning attachment, for evenness of mind is called yoga.” There is no sin or merit attached to actions based in yoga. That is the reason, the Divine Mother is sinless.
Dhanamjaya means "one who wins wealth" or "conqueror of wealth".
