Shri Lalitha Sahasranamam: Namam 985: Shri Amba (ōṃ ambāyai namaḥ)

The Divine Mother is the Mother of all beings, Mother of the Universe.

She is the Mother of the whole Universe; Mother of three Gunas, sattva, rajas, and tamas; In mantras, She is mantra Jiva; She is the overall Mother to all universal beings. During crisis times of Her devotees, without any expectation, She fulfills the requirements for Her devotee in crisis. She is coming on Her own, without asking for help by the devotee. When humans get into difficulties and reach tiredness, they knowingly or unknowingly call out Amba or Mother. She is in such Motherly form. Mother has many other greatness. This Namam is a good one to be added in this Sahasranama Namams.

In Tantra, this Namam is referred to as Mantra Jiva, meaning the soul of mantras. The three Gunas are the cause of energy, forms of Shakti and Cosmos. The Divine Mother, Amba, is the cause of three gunas themselves.

The Divine Mother is the Mother of all beings.
