Shri Lalitha Sahasranamam: Namam 972: Shri Asobhana (ōṃ āśōbhanāyai namaḥ)

The Divine Mother is always radiant.

She holds beauty and divinity as ever. Nature’s function has more discipline and auspiciousness. Both external and internal beautiful composures are two aspects of Her divine nature. The internal beauty composure is coming from Brahman which is of Her highest order.

Nature, as ever exhibiting beauty, is a good example and reflection of the Divine Mother’s divinity. The Brahman is functioning as mother of nature. Nature’s living beings are the evidence of the Divine Mother’s blessings. From which, they get all their living needs and live happily in their life. The fish is happily living in the water, will it ask what is water? Likewise, the living beings are not to ask where is the divinity? Natures’ functioning is like daylight, is happening with the Divine Mother’s blessings. So, the Divine Mother is celebrated as Asobhana.

The Divine Mother’s beauty is spread all over the universe and is surrounding Her. Please refer to Nama 462 Sobhana with the meaning that the Divine Mother is always radiant; and Nama 683 Sobhana Sukabha Gatih with the meaning that the Divine Mother is attained through as a bright and easy path. Here Namams 971 and 972 are split into two as Suvasinyarcana Priya and Asobhana.

Sobhana is synonymous with auspicious, prosperous, and beautiful. The Divine Mother is indeed the embodiment of all three good qualities.

The Divine Mother is always radiant.
