The Divine Mother has no birth (and no end also). She is eternal.
Wide open sea water turns into many waves and plays. When we see this at the surface, these waves are evident. However, when we see from a higher attitude, say from an areoplane, the sea water level seems very stable. We cannot see any sign of sea waves. When we visualize the Divine Mother as the universe, She, shows up and displays in many life forms. If we visualize the Divine Mother as Self or Brahman, She, is beyond birth and death. Gold is always gold. From gold, we can make many kinds of jewelry. Gold never gets affected due to such various forms. The Divine Mother Aja (means no birth) without any birth is such a wonderful divinity.
She takes many forms; She had reincarnated as the daughter of Dhasan, Himavan, Kafher, and Mothanger to reach Shiva, in different names and times. Yet, She, is considered having no birth, as She was there everything else in this universe. What was not there earlier, cannot be born now.
The Sruti says, “The one unborn Being, She of red, white and black in colours”. Svetasvatana Upanishad (lv.5) and the Gita (ll.20) adds, “He is not born, nor does He ever die!”. The Mahabharata makes it clear, “I was not, am not and will not be born at any time. I am the Keetragna (Knower) of all beings, therefore, I am called Aja (unborn).
An end is certain for anything that is born. The Divine Mother, who has no end, has no beginning either as Aja. “Unborn, eternal, unchangeable and primeval.” as the Gita elaborates.
The Divine Mother has no birth (and no
end also). She is eternal.
