In Namams 275
to365, the Divine Mother’s many forms
providing benefits to Her devotees in great details are discussed.
The Divine Mother has infinite divine power of attraction.
Wherever there is beauty, the divinity is reflected. The whole universe is a naturally beautiful nice place to enjoy. To visualize divinity in this universal natural beauty, is a form of prayer to the Divine Mother; She is the owner of this total universe.
When one starts to see divine beauty in normal day-today things, he also understands that all universal creatures are beautiful and divine. He further visualizes the Divine Mother’s beauty in all of those objects. So the Divine Mother is the one who has the total universal power of attraction; She is called Kanta (attractive).
Ka is Brahman, anta is final; thus the interpretation of this Namam is that the Divine Mother is certainly the undivided and undisputed Brahman. She appears first as Guru to lead us to the final Brahman. We will be discussing later in Namam 860 Akanta with meaning that She ends all the sins and sorrows of Her devotees.
The Divine Mother is in the form of Kanta; the daily deity presiding over the eleventh night of the dark lunar fortnight or the Krishna Patch Ekadesi. The Divine Mother is very attractive and beautiful to Her devotees.
