From Nama 684 to 741 the glories of the Divine Mother were discussed.
The Divine Mother grants whatever is dear to Her devotees.
The Divine Mother creates the desires in Her devotees. From Para-Brahman, the soul had separated and is involved in universal life. It is called Jiva Thaman. It is trying to seek happiness and avoid sorrow. The five sensory attributes are helping the soul or the human. Using tongue, humans analyze the food and eat only the ones they like. Through their ears they hear only the news which they like, avoiding undesired news for them. Likewise, taste, sight, action, sound, and smell attributes help to differentiate the universal happiness or sorrow for humans; through these they try to enjoy their liking or happier things only. The Divine Mother is supportive of such actions by Her devotees; She is praised as ‘Priyamkari’.
The Divine Mother is attracted by the love of Her devotees to fulfill their desires. Even those which had been disliked by the devotees are also turned into their liking by the Divine Mother. She is holding in Her hands all the desires of Her devotees. She gets into their minds and with determination, She provides all things desired by the devotees. The devotee’s happiness in current birth and what is needed for him to liberate him from this birth and death cycle. She provides both what is desired by the devotees and what is best needed for their current life and for achieving Liberation for them.
Priyam (dear) here means ‘fulfillment of desires.’ The Divine Mother fulfills the desires that are righteous and beneficial to the devotee, as She is called the ‘Priyamkari’
The Divine Mother grants what is dear to
Her devotees.
