Shri Lalitha Sahasranamam: Namam 695: Shri Dikshita (ōṃ dīkṣitāyai namaḥ)

From Nama 684 to 741 the glories of the Divine Mother are discussed.

The Divine Mother is under a vow.

Dikshita is the undertaking of a religious ritual, under the guidance of a Guru. Such rituals enhance our spirituality and lead the elimination of the accumulated sins. As the Divine Mother graces Her devotees with such knowledge, She is called the Dikshita.

The Divine Mother grants the jnana or wisdom to eliminate the sins of the devotees. Depending upon the maturity level of the soul, the Divine Mother residing inside humans, grants and explains the mantra needed for them to attain the Supreme Brahman. In addition, through mantra the Divine Mother imparts the knowledge for the entra (Device) and also the tantra (through procedures for using the entra.)

For example, one  who has gained land knowledge, knows where to cultivate crop for good yield and profit. The jnana (wisdom) is like a land expert.

Every soul is a Nada or sound. There are sounds for static and moving materials. Such sound effects over the whole universe.  Souls need to be uplifted with appropriate sounds.  Gurus initiate these mantras to their disciples. This may only be undertaken by highly mature sages. So, human must surrender to the Divine Mother who is residing within him; depending upon his level of the Divine Mother worship, human gets the required strength to mature towards Brahman. When the soul gets cleaned from all sins, the Divine Mother‘s blessings become the mantra for him;. Her blessings never go wrong. She is called ‘Dikshita’.

Dikshita is the one who gives the end benefit to the receiver. To safeguard Her devotees by destroying evil is Her desire. She does that willingly. Mantra initiation, controlling food and conduct with strict rules is known as Diksha. She is in such form to help Her devotees.

Dikshita is also a person who has taken a diksha or vow. The Divine Mother is under a vow to destroy the wicked and protect Her devotees and devas.

The implication here is that the Divine Mother is the one who gives Her devotees their desires including Liberation, by weakening or destroying their sins. Paramananda Tantra says that the Divine Mother accomplishes this by initiating Her devotees into Her mantra.

The Divine Mother is under a vow to safeguard devotees.
