Shri Lalitha Sahasranamam: Namam 788: Shri Jayat sena (ōṃ jayatsēnāyai namaḥ)

The Divine Mother has an army which always wins and is accustomed to victory only.

She always has a victorious army. These consist of chariots, elephants, horses and foot soldiers’ segments. The Divine Mother’s army was victorious over Bhand-asura. Her army always wins and has never known defeat.

Universal beings always have suffering. Universal beings get happiness and sorrow alternatively. Some people try to get only enjoyment. Some others try to cause trouble to others’ enjoyment. We can see such unpleasantness always happening in the universe. To get enjoyment alone in the universe is not easy; each being’s effort to get enjoyment is blocked. People must overcome such blockages to get enjoyment through their determination and by devotion to the Divine Mother. Those good souls will never lose out; they will remove their blockages even if they are of mountainous types. Those good souls are part of the Divine Mother’s army, and they continuously get the blockages removed with the Divine Mother’s blessings to them.  If they keep trying, they can win over.

King Jayatsena was one of the Divine Mother’s preferred devotees. As the Divine Mother is not distinct from Her devotees, here the Divine Mother is called Jayatsena also.

The Divine Mother always has a winning army.
