Shri Lalitha Sahasranamam: Namam 897: Shri Kula rupini (ōṃ kularūpiṇyai namaḥ)

The Divine Mother is the deity of Kaula path.

She is within all beings in this universe, to make them function well.

She is in the form of Kula (Kulam means a gathering or a family, community related to birth, agenda, customary observance, spiritual knowledge, a place like a country or Adhara Chakara (Nama 99 Muladharaika Nilaya, lists Anahata Chakra with meaning). Kulam is also generation-based practice, very closely related, and continuous teaching.

Kaula Margam is an open type of the Divine Mother worshipping method. She is in that form.

Mother, father, and son are three; guru, disciple and education are three; knower, knowing and knowledge are three. They are linked in triangle sides. The Divine Mother in Sri Chakra is identified in triangles.

The various meanings of Kula and Kaula path have been discussed under earlier several Namams. The Divine Mother is in many different forms, including Kula.

The Divine Mother is the deity of Kaula path.

Shri Lalitha Sahasranamam: Namam 896: Shri Kutastha (ōṃ küṭasthāyai namaḥ)

The Divine Mother remains unchanged like the anvil (a heavy block of iron on which heated pieces of metal are made into a particular shape with a hammer).

The Divine mother holds the universe covered by Maya and ignorance. The Divine Mother is hiding from souls, the Ananda stage, Brahman. Because of this, the life and death Samsara Sagra is continuously happening. Universal creation and sustaining are happening systematically due to Maya and ignorance. Kuta can mean mountain peak. In universal stage, the trees are moving in a mountain peak due to wind blowing. In this process, the mountain peak is not moving at all. When the whole universe is continuously changing, the basis and support for all, the Divine Mother is not moving. She always maintains Her own self.

Kuta can also be interpreted as far end of universe or resting place for souls. Also, Kuta can be an anvil. The hot iron is hit and shaped to other sizes. Even then, some irons may not change into shapes as desired. It is like many universal issues reach and hit at the Divine Mother. She is not disturbed or moved at all by all such disturbances. For all these reasons, the Divine Mother is called Kutastha, who is not affected by anything.

Kuta has a deceiving Shakti. It has many meanings like, mountain peak, anvil, group of things, the secured gate of a place, Self-or Brahman, Machine, deception, zodiac, illusion, mountain peak, summit, insignificance, part of a plough and gate of a city. The ultimate Ananda state, Brahman is covered, and the souls are looking outwards for happiness due to ajnana or ignorance. The Divine Mother monitors all such things, as She is above all of them. The souls try to understand the Divine Mother as Kuta as being ignorant. The Divine Mother through Maya is the place for ignorance. Like mountain peaks are not affected and not moved by wind blowing, the In anvil, the heated iron is hit by hammers, which takes long and continuous hits to change its shape slightly. But the anvil never changes its shape. The Divine Mother is like the anvil, does not change or move due to things happening around Her. The Divine Mother is the Supreme, the eternal one, who stays unmoved like the anvil, even buffeted by worldly changes. She is the basis and support for all souls and universal happenings. She is in three Kutas as mentioned in Pancadasi mantra. She is in Sri Chakra triangles.

Pancadasi mantra structure.

1.     Vagbhavakuta, five syllables represent the Divine mother’s face.

2.     Kamarajakuta or Madhyakuta, six syllables represent the Divine Mother’s body and trunk.

3.     Shaktikuta, four syllables represent desires and or Kama

4.     Total fifteen syllables, all are Beja alphabets.

Kuta can be interpreted as ignorance (ajnana). This Namam means that the Divine Mother stays shrouded by our ignorance. Wisdom is enveloped by ignorance, thereby beings are deluded, says the Gita (V.15). Kuta can also mean mountain peak. We notice many of the Divine Mother’s temples are on top of the mountains. Kuta interpreted as world, gives the message that the Divine Mother is one who keeps all the world fixed in Herself.

The Tantric meaning is, “She who resides in three Kutas of the ‘Pancadasi mantra’, The other Tantric meaning is that She dwells at the door (Kuta) of the triangle in Sri Chakara.

The Divine Mother remains unchanged like the anvil.

Shri Lalitha Sahasranamam: Namam 895: Shri Yoni nilaya (ōṃ yōninilayāyai namaḥ)

The Divine Mother is the seat of all origins.

She is the base for all the beings manifested in this universe. The whole universe with all galaxies and many beings are all absorbed by the Divine Mother during Pralaya. During recreation time, all come back to be recreated. The Divine Mother is the place of creation. She provides support for all universal things and beings.

For example, the cine screen is the base for all the cinema, when the cinema is running; but when the cinema is finished, the screen goes back to its original self. The Divine Mother is comparable to such a screen. Within Her all things and beings in this universe are created and get absorbed. But there is no change happening to the Divine Mother. She stays as ever without any change.

She is the originator and basis for all universal things and beings. Yoni is a place of origin; Nilayam is a place to rest. The Divine Mother is the place for these two, namely origin and resting place. She is the root cause of everything, creating the universe. Then She is the basis of all those created; She supports them all. She keeps the balance for them during Pralaya to keep them calm. Yoni is also maya. She reflects maya and brings that maya within Her. Yoni is triangle. She is as Bindu in Sri Chakra triangle ninth fort.

Yoni is ‘a’, Beja Sanskrit alphabet, a mantra. She resides in that Brahman through five divinities to do five tasks in this universe. They are all absorbed within Her and become calm during Pralaya.

“The one from whom, all beings originate”, says the Sruti. The one who is the source even for original cause. The Divine Mother supports Brahma, who does universal creation as assigned by Her.

This Nama also means, “She dwells as Bindu in Sri Chakra triangle.”

The Divine Mother is the seat of all origins.

Shri Lalitha Sahasranamam: Namam 894: Shri Ayonih (ōṃ ayōnyai namaḥ)

The Divine Mother is without origin.

She had not originated from anywhere or anything. If any life comes into being, then one can ask where it came from. But for Shiva and Shakti, the Divine Mother, there is no starting point or origin. They are there eternally. For other thing / being that originates, there is an end. For the divinity, the Divine Mother Has, no birth, no sustaining, and disappearing death. She is there forever. The Divine Mother spreads in all places. She is beyond time, places, reasons, and causes. She is existing forever. This is worth understanding and praying to the Divine Mother.

Due to the Divine Mother, the whole universe was created. She is the cause of this universe and beyond it. She did not have birth or origin. Ayoni can mean a separate place. So, the Divine Mother is called Ayoni. Yoni means a place to stay. She is everywhere and is the basis of everything in this universe. We cannot say that She is existing in a particular place. ‘a’ is Vishnu and His Mother is Ayoni.

Since She has no origin, She, also has no end or no limits.

‘a’ is Vishnu and yoni is origin, so She is the origin of Vishnu. Even the trinity of Brahma, Vishnu and Rudra arise, exit, and perish in Her.

The Divine Mother is without origin.

Shri Lalitha Sahasranamam: Namam 893: Shri Vishnu rupini (ōṃ viṣṇurūpiṇyai namaḥ)

The Divine Mother’s form spreads all over whole universe.

We have explained in earlier Namam 892, Vaishnavi, the Divine Mother is in the form of Vishnu. During Parvathi-Parameswaran marriage, Vishnu give His Sister in marriage to Shiva. When we consider, it can be male or female. Considering the Divine Mother as Vishnu Rupini is appropriate. The Sister, the Divine Mother, uses all the weapons of Vishnu and controls the universe well, is the message to understand here.

She manifested as Vishnu and spread and fills all through universe, as Vishnu Rupini. In female form as Lalitha and in male form as Narayanan or Vishnu, the Divine Mother manifests. Her male form is Vishnu.

In Her cosmic sport, the Divine Mother manifests in four different forms. Sri Bhasara Carya cites the following from Lalitopakhyana, in which Vishnu says, “The original Shakti of Mahesa appears in four different forms in Her normal or enjoying form as Bhavani; in battle as Durga; in anger as Kali; and as male in My own form.”

In Kumara Purana, Shiva shows His Universal form to Man Kanaka and later enquired about His brilliant form. Shiva replies, “She is my Supreme Maya and the Prakriti (original form) possessing the three gunas, She is called the womb of the universe. She bewilders the universal Maya. She is Narayani Devi.”

The Divine Mother’s form spreads all

                                           over whole universe.

Shri Lalitha Sahasranamam: Namam 892: Shri Vaisnavi (ōṃ vaiṣṇavyai namaḥ

The Divine Mother is in the form of Vishnu.

Shakti Vaisnavi is the spouse of Vishnu. We cannot separate fire and heat. Likewise, we cannot separate Lakshmi Devi (Vaisnavi Devi) from Mahavishnu. The whole universal material wealth is in Mahalakshmi’s control. All things in this universe are useful to mankind. For example, from Tamil Nadu deep south, Kanyakumari District, sea short black sands were used to cover ropes and were sent to Germany. The German scientists separated the sand and rope and found raw sand material was good for making atomic reaction. This is basically Mahalakshmi’s grace. She with Mahavishnu had granted the knowledge to the scientists to separate out more useful things. All universal things can be converted for other universal beings’ use. Those who seek material wealth from Mahalakshmi just by asking will not get it. Those who can separate out universal materials and put them to good use will get the blessings of Mahalakshmi.

Vaisnavi Devi is the Shakti for Vishnu, the divinity spreading all over to save the universal beings. Vishnu is Narayanan, also. The Divine Mother is His sister as Narayani Devi. The Durgha Devi named Narayani also has a Chanku Chakra. The Divine Mother is the Mother of all Universal beings, thereby She becomes the Mother of Vishnu also. The Divine Mother is in the form of Vishnu and or is the Mother of Vishnu. Devi Purana gives the following definition of Vaisnavi who is celebrated in songs as Vaisnavi; who wears the couch, disc, and club; who is the Mother of Vishnu and destroyer of foes and is in the form of Vishnu Himself.

The Divine Mother is in the form of Vishnu.

Shri Lalitha Sahasranamam: Namam 891: Shri Vidrumabha (ōṃ vidrumābhāyai namaḥ)

The Divine Mother shines like coral (with Her red complexion).

She is beautiful.  In Her red colour, She shines like coral. Usually, the Divine Mother’s red colour is compared to reddish flowers and coral. Flowers are under direct sunlight. They get sun’s rays and their colour on their own. Coral is under deep seabed. Sun’s rays cannot reach the coral. A red-coloured coral is very rare. The Divine Mother’s natural rare glories here are compared to rare reddish coral.

Vidruma can mean jnana (knowledge or wisdom) light. The Divine Mother has such jnana light within Her. When a seed grows and comes out of the earth, it will have all the aspects of the tree. Use of the jnana light is kept alive for generations. When a fruit giving tree dies, other similar trees grow and maintain the natural fruit giving aspect. Jnana light is like a fruit giving tree. Like these natural happenings and Her glories, the Divine Mother’s, are maintaining the universe..

Vidruma is coral, It also can mean the tree (druma) of knowledge (vid). Or it is a special tree (vi + druma), like the wish-fulling Kalpa tree. The Divine Mother, who fulfills everyone’s wish, shines like the wish fulfilling Kalpa tree.

The Divine Mother shines like coral
