Shri Lalitha Sahasranamam: Namam 646: Shri Satyananda svarupini (ōṃ satyānandasvarūpiṇyai namaḥ)

The Divine Mother’s form is Existence and Bliss.

Satya means existence and reality; it does not change with time. The Divine Mother is the Sun (ya) who is the life force (sat to mean prana) of all universal beings.

The Divine Mother is in ever Existence and in Auspiciousness form. Something is available in one period and not in another period; it is available in one place but not in another place; our body was not there earlier; our body is there now but it will not be there in the future. These are examples of other conditions if something cannot be found; there is no permanent existence for them. Our body takes shape for our birth and after of our death, it will not be there, the soul moves to another body. They are not permanent, due to Maya, time and place. The Divine Mother is eternally spreading through the universe in sat form, being the life force for all universal beings.

All universal beings enjoy life due to the fact they originated from the ever happy Divine Mother. The jewelry made using gold are all gold; likewise, having come from the happy state of the Divine Mother, all universal beings are happy, and they enjoy the life. When such universal beings suffer due to the Maya effect, their happiness is hidden by the Divine Mother. Those beings coming from always happy the Divine Mother, always seek happiness. When they are controlled by time and place due to Maya, they have limited happy state. The Divine Mother is not controlled by such Maya effects and eternally She is presiding over the universe.

Satyam is never destroyed or always lost. Without sorrow, joy is called Ananda. The Divine Mother is there in Existence always (eternally) with ultimate Bliss. Satyam (Existence) and Bliss are different. They are part of dharma. The Divine Mother is always in all this. The Divine Mother, Satyam and Bliss are although different are part of the Divine Mother’s forms.

Bliss is the true nature of Brahman. Brahman is Knowledge and Bliss,as stated in the Sruti. Thus, the Divine Mother is that Brahman. We recall the earlier declaration in the Sruti that “Brahman is Existence, Knowledge and Infinity. (Satyam, JmAnam, anantam and Brahma)”

The Goddess the Divine Mother is in ever

Existence and Bliss state.

Shri Lalitha Sahasranamam: Namam 645: Shri Sarva vedanta samvedya (ōṃ sarvavēdāntasaṃvēdyāyai namaḥ)

The Divine Mother is known by all vedanta. She is understood and realized by the study of vedanta. She is present as the knowledge of the vedanta.

Samvedya, means, She who is known well. That is, she is well understood by through all Vedanta. Upanishads are in the end of Vedas and are called the Vedanta. For this universe and Heaven, all humans’ needs are mentioned in Karma Kanda. These knowledgeable Upanishads lead the way to Brahman. By following Upanishads, the devotee is ready to reach the Brahman. He must sacrifice his way of life in this universe. He must win over his five senses to understand the Brahman. He realizes that the Brahman and not his own body is the ultimate, which is beyond the universal life, which is again the Divine Mother’s form. We cannot explain the sweetness of sugar by words alone. Likewise, the words cannot help to reach the Brahman. This is where the Upanishads come into explain things by words. By all these, the humans develop capacity to reach the Brahman. At that stage, the devotee can visualize the Brahman which is the Divine Mother’s form is the explanation of this Namam.

She is understood as one, by all the Upanishads, which are at the end of the Vedas, are called Vedanta. They provide the limits of Jnana. They all talk about only one, the Divine Mother, who is beyond Vedanta and words.

The inner essence of all Vedas is the Divine Mother. The Divine Mother is the object of logic and of Vedanta, according to Varaha.

The Goddess the Divine Mother is understood through

Vedanta, which are at the end of Vedas.

Shri Lalitha Sahasranamam: Namam 644: Shri Jnana vigraha (ōṃ Jṇānavigrahāyai namaḥ)

The Divine Mother is the embodiment of Knowledge itself.

Vigraha means “known through special means”; we arrive at the meaning of this Namam as “She who is the Knowledge that is obtained through special means”. This Namam is a form of worship to the Divine Mother.

She is in the form of Jnana or Supreme Knowledge. She has created all universal beings to have Knowledge to understand other beings and to aim to reach the Brahman. Bees prepare their hives where there are lots of flowers. Before the rain starts, all bees will go into their hives. Mankind is trying to be knowledgeable in various fields. At last, he realizes that through devotion to the Divine Mother, he can get Superior Knowledge. Through to Bhakti, Shri Ramakrishna Baramahamsa transformed himself as Jnana Vigraha or embodiment of knowledge, like the Divine Mother Herself.

For those who matured and attained Brahman, the Divine Mother as the Para jnanam, blesses them. So, at all stages of, the souls’ maturity, She is providing the Jnana which is splendid.

Athma vidya and soul are not different. By achieving knowledge or athma vidya, we can differentiate the knower and what is known by him.

The Divine Mother is in Jnana form in souls. With our lower knowledge, we need not worry about getting Brahma knowledge as the devotion to Divine Mother will expand our knowledge to a higher level. This again through Her blessing expands to Brahma knowledge.

The Superior Self is basically knowledge, which is the cause of Liberation and bondage. Everything in this universe is knowledge based. There is nothing beyond knowledge. (O Maitreya, know that vidya and avidya are both knowledge. (Vishnu Purana). The Divine Mother is also one, “who expands Knowledge”).

The Goddess the Divine Mother is in Sarasvati’s

form giving the Superior Knowledge.

Shri Lalitha Sahasranamam: Namam 643: Shri Jnanada (ōṃ jJṇānadāyai namaḥ)

The Divine Mother gives Knowledge of the Self to devotees.

She grants or gives the Jnana or Superior Knowledge to attain the Liberation. The Apara vidya is the knowledge about the universal things, while para vidya is the superior knowledge about the Brahman. The souls depending at various maturity stages are getting paravidya. The bees through their five senses live wonderful life. The Divine Mother has given the knowledge to mankind to understand about universal things. Knowing that universal life is with difficulties, the highly matured people live to understand the things beyond the universe. The Divine Mother grants yoga, bhakti and Janam routes to mankind for such understanding. She also gives the knowledge to understand the Brahman through Her blessings. People start from Apara vidya and reach para vidya stage. All these are continuous grace granted by the Divine Mother; She is celebrated as Jnanada.

Knowledge is in two types; one is to help to reach Brahman to get Liberation, which is granted by the Divine Mother. Second is due to desires and ignorance to connect the souls to new bodies in samsara cycle. The Divine Mother tries to cut this need for Her devotees, yet ignorance opposite to jnana comes in humans’ lives. Aparicchedya, Vana Devi, is realizable in meditation. Once we understand Aparicchedya, we understand everything towards the Brahman. The Divine Mother grants such Superior Knowledge.

Through the grace only of the Divine Mother, who is the power or shakti, can living beings attain Supreme Knowledge, which destroys the sorrow of the Samsara cycle (Skanda Purana). The Suta Gita also says that only through the grace of the Divine Mother, who is pleased by devotion, can one attain the final Liberation which is unlimited and is the form of knowledge, truth and bliss.

The Goddess the Divine Mother is the Superior Knowledge.

Shri Lalitha Sahasranamam: Namam 642: Shri Apari cchedya (ōṃ aparicChēdyāyai namaḥ)

The Divine Mother’s limits are infinite and cannot be determined by normal humans or anyone else.

She is beyond measurable. Time, space and worldly things are within their given limits. If it is there in one period and disappears in another period, it cannot be divinity or Brahman. Even the universe which was created initially disappears during pralaya. Time created by the Divine Mother disappears in due course. If a thing is available in one place and if cannot be found in another place, it is controlled by the place measurement aspect. The Divine Mother cannot be said to be in one place and not in another place, as She is spreading all through the universe. She allows the place aspect to be within Her and disappear. She is the witness to that process during the pralaya (refer to earlier discussed Namam 281 Unmesa nimisotpanna vipanna bhuvanavalih with the meaning that the Divine Mother causes a series of worlds to arise and disappear with opening and closing of Her eyes. That is similar to Devi Meenakshi’s eyes never closes, like a fish or Meen in Tamil language.

What we can visualize with our naked eyes is universe related. We cannot see the Divine Mother with our naked eyes. She can be realized through our other efforts such as meditation. She is nada (speech) rupam, so praising with Her songs and reciting Her names, we try to understand Her but not fully. Due to devotion, maturity comes to us; She is beyond time, place and other controls; She cannot be visualized by naked eyes and ears; She is celebrated as Aparicchedya.

She is beyond limits and controls. She cannot be limited by place, time and be of a certain form. If She is one place and not be in another place, She can be said to be controlled by place aspect which is beyond Her; Likewise, that She will be here today but not tomorrow is a time limitation which is beyond Her. She is in a certain form, but not as other form is limiting factor on Her shape and appearance. She is beyond those forms. Likewise, Her energy (Shakti) is also boundless and immeasurable.

Only created things can be measured. The Divine Mother is beyond time and space; She is the cause of all creations in this universe; She is unlimited and non-measurable.

The Goddess the Divine Mother’s limits cannot be determined.

Shri Lalitha Sahasranamam: Namam 641: Shri Dhyana gamya (ōṃ dhyānagamyāyai namaḥ)

The Divine Mother may be attained through meditation.

If one focuses his mind on his desired thing, it becomes a meditation on that thing. We can meditate on Brahman or any worldly things. Meditation focuses on getting what we want. It is always best to meditate on our favourite divine deity, here the Divine Mother or the Brahman.

One ought to have the focus of the angler sitting on the banks of pond or river to catch a fish. When someone’s meditation strengthens, his body senses disappear. Similarly, meditation focusing on the Divine Mother results in Her granting and blessing the devotee. With this, the devotee leaves this universal life to be merged with the Brahman.

As we saw, to focus our mind deeply on a thing is meditation; when we focus our mind on the ultimate Brahman, there may be other thoughts disturbing us. We should leave such unwanted thoughts, put in more focus about the Divine Mother or the Brahman. By doing it repeatedly, we can get the Divine Mother within us. Once this is possible, we can attain the Divine Mother through meditation.

The Divine Mother is beyond our senses. She cannot be seen by external eyes. She can be realized only by long and constant meditation. Refer to be discussed in the future Namam 870: Anthar mukha samaradhya with the meaning, that the Divine Mother is to be worshipped internally (by mental worship). “Engaged in meditation, the RSIs, saw the Divine Self hidden in its own Gunas”. (Svetasvatara Upanisad I.3).

The Goddess the Divine Mother is attained through meditation.

Shri Lalitha Sahasranamam: Namam 640: Shri Vag adhishvari (ōṃ vāgadhīśvaryai namaḥ)

The  Divine Mother presides over the speech of each of all universal beings. She is the cause and the meaning of all speeches.

She leads every universal being’s speech. Even though the humans can speak, not everyone can speak clearly. One’s clarity of speech is the indicator of maturity of that individual. The speech clarify and meaning wellness ought to be in one’s speech. Vag adhishvari, the Divine Mother grants such wellness in one’s speech, which they ought to benefit for praying to the Divine Mother. The devotee can pray to the Divine Mother to grant wellness of clarity and meanings in one’s speech.

Vag Devis (from Vasini, a total of eight of them) are all the forms of the Divine Mother. She is in the forms of Vagadhisvari. She is making us to speak. When we speak about the things we know, we get full clarity and understanding of those things. We cannot think and speak about an item which we do not know. We learn and understand more about the Divine Mother as part of the scheme of things. What we have understood on the Divine Mother is within us and in meditation we permanently keep such knowledge on the Divine Mother within us.

The Divine Mother presides over Goddess Sarasvati and eight Vag Devis. It is through grace that they function. Therefore, the Divine Mother is Vag adhishvari.

The Goddess of learning Sarasvati Devi is a form of the Divine Mother.
